What is AmeriCorps?
AmeriCorps, often called the domestic PeaceCorps, engages thousands of committed citizens every year to meet critical community needs in education, public safety, health and the environment.

Members fight poverty in nonprofit organizations nationwide and help build sustainable change through their roles. In its fourth year of hosting AmeriCorps members, Harvesters offers the chance to help feed people in need in our community.

At a glance, members:
• Commit to a full-time (1,700 hours) or half-time (900 hours) year of service
• Gain professional experience in the nonprofit sector
• Participate in a great resume-building experience
• Earn the Segal Education Award and be provided a living stipend
• Receive health care coverage (for full-time members only)
• Receive student loan forbearance and childcare assistance for those who qualify
• Must be a U.S. citizen or have Permanent Resident Alien status
